I entered Photo 1 with almost no photography experience besides what little I had shot on my iPhone. I left knowing not only how to compose a great photograph but also with many creative ideas on subjects and editing styles. The projects were things I had never done before and all of my experiences will help me with photography in the future. Photography has helped me learn that I have more good ideas than I know. By being assigned these creative projects I learned that if I open myself up I can come up with better photos than if I just skim the surface. A challenging aspect of this semester was the editing portion. Editing isn't my strong point but these assignments helped me get better. My favorite work was definitely the planets assignment. I loved how it looked when it was put together. I would choose to redo my alphabet because I would like to see what I could come up with for a round two and what other letters I could find. In my final project all the pictures have to do with having a voice. I want my opinion to be heard. I used the imagery of voice amplification to represent that. This represents the truth that I want to make a difference in the world with my voice. For anyone looking at this project, I want you to receive the message that I have something to say and am not afraid to say it. To a future Photo 1 student - don't plan your photographs. For me it was better to grab my camera, walk around, and see what I notice in the world around me.
